Da Le Tu Yi(《大乐图义》)was written in February of the second year of Jingyou's reign(AD 1035).However,it has various synonyms in ancient records,such as Da Le Tu(《大乐图》),Tai Le Tu Yi(《太乐图义》),and Da Le Tu Yi《大乐图仪》,among others.Da Le Tu(《大乐图》)and Da Le Tu Yi(《大乐图义》)should be considered the same book with different names,rather than two distinct works by Song Qi.The original composition comprised two volumes,but in circulation,it may be presented as a single volume.This book is associated with lulu,featuring ten main chapters with coordinated pictures and text.Additionally,seven miscellaneous essays on singing and dancing by Song Qi are appended at the end.The entire book was scattered during the Yuan Dynasty,with the main text not surviving.However,the preface and seven miscellaneous essays have been preserved in their entirety.
