The Study on the Addendum to Musical Activities of Jiangxi Native Musician Cheng Maoyun(1900-1957)
Cheng Maoyun,a prominent Jiangxi musician during the Republic of China period,was obscured from historical recognition after the founding of the People's Republic of China for various reasons.It was not until 2007 that academia began to reassess and acknowledge this"marginalized"and"unregistered"musician.The discovery and analysis of new historical materials have brought about new insights and expansions beyond the previously limited focus on his activities with the Jiangxi Music Education Promotion Committee.Consequently,this article aims to avoid redundancy,fill gaps,and address omissions found in prior literature by reviewing these new materials.By tracing original sources and providing additional context,this paper seeks to comprehensively outline and restore the dedicated perseverance,experiences,and historical contributions of Jiangxi musician Cheng Maoyun to the rejuvenation of music education during a period of historical adversity.
