Allelopathy of Leaf Extract From the Nerium indicum on Four Plants
Allelopathy of leaf extract from the Nerium indicum on four receptor plants (Lactuca sativa L.var.angustanaIrish,Brassica rapa ssp.pekinensis,Raphanus sativus L.,Zea mays L.) were studied in laboratory. The results showed that different concentrations of leaf extract had strong allelopathic inhibition on seed germination and seedling growth of four plants, and with the increase of the concentration of allelochemicals, allelopathic inhibition enhanced significantly. The order of comprehensive allelopathic effect was:Lactuca sativa L.var.angustanaIrish > Brassica rapa ssp.pekinensis > Raphanus sativus L.> Zea mays L.Underground part was more sensitive than the ground part, and had stronger inhibitory effect. When the concentration of leaf extract was 20 g/L,germination rate of Lactuca sativa L.var.angustanaIrish and Raphanus sativus L.seeds were extremely significant difference compared with control.Root length and hypocotyl length of Lactuca sativa L.var.angustanaIrish,Raphanus sativus L.and Brassica rapa ssp.Pekinensis were also significant extremely difference compared with the control group.
