Effects of Salt Stress and PEG Treatment on Seed Germination of Dracocephlum tanguticum Maxim
In this research,Dracocephlum tanguticum Maxim was selected to study the effect on seed germination rate of different concentrations of NaCl(0,20,40,60,80 and 100 mmol/L) and PEG-6000(0,25,50,75,100 and 125 g/L).The results showed that:Salt stress restrains the seed germination of Dracocephlum tanguticum Maxim, initial germination time was delayed, seed germination rate, germination index, vigor index, radicle and hypocotyl length decreased, the damaged germination rate increased with the rise of salt concentration. The tolerance of seeds to NaCl was stronger than that of Na2SO4,and the tolerance of Na2CO3 was the weakest.PEG-6000 treatment also restrains the seed germination of Dracocephlum tanguticum Maxim, the germination rate, germination index, vigor index, radicle and hypocotyl length decreased and the damage rate of germination increased with increasing concentration of PEG-6000 solution.
