Effects of Different Concentrations of Gibberellin on Seed Germination Characteristics of Meconopsis delavayi (Fr.)Fr.ex Prain
In this paper, the seeds of Meconopsis delavayi (Fr.)Fr.ex Prain wild population in Yu Long Snow mountain were collected and treated with different concentrations of gibberellin (GA3) at 50,100,150,200,250,300 mg/L respectively,in the pro-grammable illuminated incubator in this experiment. We aimed at studying the effects of the different concentration of gibberellin (GA3) on the seed germination characteristics of M.delavayi.The results of seed germination showed that average length-width ratio was 3.25 ± 0.08,the average thousand-grain weight was (1.33 ± 0.06)g,and the average moisture content of seeds was (6.55± 0.85)%.On the other hand,200-300 mg/L treatment could improve seed germination rate, germination potential and germination index, and shorten the average germination time, accelerate seed germination speed and enhance seed germination ability. The difference in treatment of different concentration gibberellin was significant (p<0.05).The above results indicated that the GA3 with different concentrations could affect seed germination characteristics of M.delavayi significantly.
