With mung bean (Vigna radiata L.)as receptor materials, the effects of aqueous extracts on the seed germination rate, seedling growth and chlorophyll content in different parts of Artemisia annua L.were studied by using interior bioassay method in laboratory. It was showed that the allelopathic effect increased with the increasing treatment concentration of the aqueous extracts of the root, stem and leaf of Artemisia annua L..The degree of inhibition of different sections in A.annua plant on mung bean seed germination was the following:leaf>stem>root, and the rate of seed germination decreased with increasing concentration of the aqueous extracts;when the root growth of the seedlings was treated by low concentrations (20 mg/mL aqueous extract from A.annua root and stem),its seedling growth was promoted, but obviously prohibited as concentrations reached up 40 mg/mL;the seedling height declined generally with the increase of concentration, the largest declines were 46.29 %,47.67 % and 56.48 % respectively;and chlorophyll content a and b also declined at various degree. It was showed that A.annua affected the seed germination and seedling growth of mung seed. Therefore,it is necessary to consider the allelopathic effect of Artemisia annua L.when cultivation of Artemisia annua L.or mung beans in large areas.
