Response of Lavandula angustifolia Mill.Seed Germination to Temperature and Gibberellin
Lavandula angustifolia Mill.seeds have a long dormancy period and are difficult to natural-ly germinate. In order to improve the germination rate of Lavandula angustifolia Mill.seeds,com-mon Lavandula angustifolia Mill.varieties'Monster'and'Sid'were used as research objects. The effects of temperature and gibberellin treatment on Lavandula angustifolia Mill.seed germination were studied by setting different temperature treatments, different concentrations of gibberellin, and different soaking times. The results showed that the optimal temperature for lavender germination varied depending on the variety. The seed germination rate of'Monster'was 81.67%at 18 ℃,and the highest germination rate of'Sid'was 70.67%at 21 ℃.The concentration of gibberellin and different soaking times had a significant impact on the germination of lavender seeds.Soaking with GA3 at a concentration of 100μg/mL for 6-8 hours was most beneficial for Lavandula angustifolia Mill.seed germination.
