Seed priming and seed treatment with pesticides are two conventional practices in modern ag-riculture.The seed priming can improve the vigor and the resistance to environmental stress of seeds.The seed treatment with pesticides could protect crops from the attack of insect pests and pathogens.Therefore,these two seed treatment techniques could meet the requirements of precise seed sowing.Under this condition,the combination of these two seed treatment techniques,including the pathway of treating primed seeds with pesticides and the safety of treating primed seeds with pesticides,was what the seed company and the pesticide company wantted to know.This paper reviewed the seed priming techniques,the physiological and biochemical effects of seed priming,and the pathway of treating primed seeds with pesticides.In addition,the pathway of solving the problem of combining seed priming and seed treatment with pesticides was also prospected.
