The agronomic traits of 8 new Saccharum officinarum varieties(lines)were comprehen-sively evaluated and the excellent varieties(lines)were screened to provide reference for the promo-tion of new varieties in southwest Guangxi cane area,especially in Longzhou cane area.Seven new Saccharum officinarum varieties(lines)were selected and evaluated by the DTOPSIS method using ROC22 as the control and a comparative field trial of one year new planting and two years persistent root.The results showed that the varieties were ranked in order of Ci according to the results of DTOPSIS analysis:Hetang1 1-157＞Guitang10-1042.Guitang08-56＞Guitang11-2320＞Guitang09-439＞ROC22＞Guitang11-2119＞Guitang10-417.The new Saccharum officinarum varieties Hetang 11-157 and Guitang10-1042 could be promoted and applied in the cane area of southwest Guangxi,especially in Longzhou,Guitang08-56 and Guitang09-439 could be continued to be observed as excel-lent new varieties.Guitang11-2320,Guitang11-2119 and Guitang10-417 were not recommended to be promoted and applied in the cane area of southwest Guangxi.
