Comparative Observation on Symbiotic and Non-symbiotic Germination of Dendrobium officinale Seeds
Dendrobium officinale is a valuable Chinese herb in China, but because of its small seeds and no endosperm,it is difficult to reproduce under natural conditions, resulting in a lack of wild resources. The symbiotic and non-symbiotic germination of Dendrobium officinale seeds under light conditions were studied and compared in this study. The results showed that Tulasnella sp.promoted the seed germination of Dendrobium officinale.Symbiotic germinated seeds had high germination rate and fast growth, and the germination rate reached 90%after 21 days of sowing, while the germina-tion rate of non-symbiotic germinated seeds was only 36%.The results showed that symbiotic germi-nation of Dendrobium officinale was better than non-symbiotic germination.
