Study on the Germination and Storage Characteristics of Alpinia hainanensis K.Schumann Seeds
Alpinia hainanensis K.Schumann seeds were treated with warm soup, soda water and NAA,and dried and moisturized for storage. The germination and storage characteristics of Alpinia hainanensis K.Schumann seeds were studied. The results showed that the seeds could germinate when soaked in warm soup at 30-60 ℃ for 30 min,but could not germinate above 70 ℃.After soa-king in soda water for 2 hours and 8 hours, the germination potential of seeds soaked in NAA5 and NAA50 was higher than that treated with water.Seed viability was significantly different under dry and wet sand storage conditions, and significantly different under storage conditions and storage time.Alpinia hainanensis K.Schumann seeds placed indoors at room temperature without treatment would be inactivated for 30-60 days, but in low temperature and humid environment, seed viability could be maintained for more than 5 months. The optimal storage method was moisturizing and fresh-keep-ing(2-3 ℃).87%of Alpinia hainanensis K.Schumann seed embryos were still active by TTC stai-ning at the 5th month.
