Identification and Analysis of Wheat Germplasm Resistance to Stripe Rust
In order to understand the resistance level and resistance gene background of wheat(Triticum aestivum L.)stripe rust in Guizhou Province, stripe rust resistance phenotype was identified in 274 wheat germplasms using the prevalent physiological species of stripe rust and molecular detection was performed with the known Yr gene. The results showed that 156 wheat germplasm showed stable adult resistance in the field.Molecular detection of Yr9,Yr10,Yr17,Yr18,Yr26,Yr29,Yr30,Yr65,Yr67,Yr78 and Yr81 of which the number of materials containing isogenes was 2,37,53,4,49,23,91,40,15,38,15,106 and 145,respectively.176 germplasms had two or more Yr genes. The higher the number of genes contained in the material, the disease susceptibility of the corresponding population material decreased.Yr5,Yr15,Yr17,Yr65 and Yr78 genes were significantly correlated with field resistance.Making full use of the genes Yr5 and Yr15 which still maintained good resistance in production. The expression of resistance gene Yr81 could have epistatic effect with other genes.Considering epistatic effect, genotype and environment interaction affecting resistance expression and physiological cost related to resistance genes, polymeric breeding of resistance genes should be actively carried out.Fully utilize modern biotechnology to rapidly cultivate new wheat varieties with persistent resistance and excellent agronomic traits, effectively controlling the outbreak of wheat stripe rust.
