Analysis on Differences Seed Morphology and Germination Rate of Zanthoxylum nitidum(Roxb.)DC.
In order to explore the differences of seed morphology and germination rate of Zanthoxylum nitidum(Roxb.)DC.)from different provenances, the 1 000-grain weight,area,girth,length,width,length/width and germination rate of 99 seeds from 10 producing areas were measured,coeffi-cient of variation and genetic diversity index were calculated in this study, and principal component analysis and cluster analysis were performed. The results showed that there were abundant genetic variation in seed morphology and germination traits, among which the three indexes with the largest coefficient of variation were the germination rate at 15 ℃(275.11%),the germination rate at 30 ℃/20 ℃ diurnal temperature(221.43%),and the seed 1 000-grain weight(16.00%).The germination rate of seed was not related to the 1 000-grain weight of seed, but was significantly related to the length/width of seed.Principal component analysis showed that the first principal component reflected seed morphology, the second principal component reflected seed germination ability, and the cumula-tive contribution rate of the first and second principal components was 82.47%.The 99 materials were divided into three categories by cluster analysis.Group Ⅰ had large 1 000-grain weight and high ger-mination rate,Group Ⅱ had small 1 000-grain weight and low germination rate.Three germplasm with high germination rate were selected, which were numbered JN2,MS5 and YF8 respectively, and could be used as parent materials for innovative utilization of germplasm resources and breeding of new varieties.
