China has been rising as a power with strong political and economic influence globally in recent years,and its initiative of"Chinese culture going global"is more than ever strategically significant.Translating tra-ditional Chinese classics into foreign languages is undoubtedly an essential way to facilitate the communications and exchanges between Chinese culture and those of other nations.However,the continuous expansion of translated tra-ditional Chinese classics has not gained popularity in overseas markets,and the real effect that those translated works may bring to the cultural exchanges is far from meeting expectations,which should be reviewed and ad-dressed by the academia and relevant authorities.Based on existing literature on the topic and his personal transla-tion practices in the field,the author analyzed the challenges of transmission and reception of translated traditional Chinese Classics and tried to propose solutions accordingly,from the perspectives of translation studies in general and medio-translatology in particular,with a view to bringing some inspirations to break the deadlock.
