An Analysis of the Spiritual and Artistic Features of Hu Tribesmen-related Poems by Li Bai and Du Fu
In Li Bai's and Du Fu's poems about Hu tribesmen,the performance of Hu-Han relationship is different.The formation of Li Bai's and Du Fu's concept on Hu tribesmen is closely related to their family back-ground,their life experiences,their personal character,and the influence of Hu culture.Both Li Bai and Du Fu criticize the An-Shi rebellion and the militaristic behavior of the Hu and Han rulers,which shows the common traits of the poets'attitude towards Hu tribesmen in the glorious age of Tang Dynasty.However,Li Bai and Du Fu also have their own distinctive features:Li Bai appears confident and relaxed with his"letting go"everywhere,while Du Fu appears reflective and anxious with his"worrying".From the point of view of artistic performance,Li Bai's poems about Hu tribesmen make good use of metaphors and exaggerations and manifest the romanticism style,while Du Fu's poems are mainly characterized by narrative and literary quotation and manifest the realism style.
