Treatment of acute tendinous mallet finger with external anchor bone-tendon suture
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of external anchor bone-tendon suture in the treatment of acute tendinous mallet fingers.Methods From January 2020 to October 2022,22 patients with acute tendinous mallet fingers were treated in our hospital.There were 15 cases of open injury and 7 cases of closed injury.All are single finger surgeries.Results All 22 patients were follow-up for a period of 12 to 24 months,with an average of 18.3 months.All wounds achieved primary healing without any complications.According to the Crawford mallet finger efficacy evaluation criteria,8 cases were excellent,12 cases were good,1 case was fair,and 1 case was poor.According to the evaluation criteria for upper limb function of the Chinese Medical Association,7 cases were excellent,14 cases were good,and 1 case was fair.According to Miller's criteria,the function of the extensor tendon was evaluated as excellent in 7 cases,good in 13 cases,fair in 1 case,and poor in 1 case.Conclusion The use of external anchor bone-tendon suture for the treatment of acute tendinous mallet finger injury has the advantages of reliable fixation,good mobility,fewer complications,and low cost.
