Modified double loop method for the treatment of bony mallet fingers
Objective Tothe effect of modified double loop method in the surgical treatment of bony mallet fingers. Methods From May 2019 to January 2022,16 patients with fresh bony mallet fingers were treated with open reduction. One Kirschner wire was inserted through the distal interphalangeal joint at 0° position, and one Kirschner wire was inserted on each side of the distal base. The proximal sides of the fracture block were sutured with double loops, and then the Kirschner wire was wrapped around the same side and folded back to the proximal end of the fracture block. After the reduction of the bone block,it was tied and fixed. The clinical efficacy was followed up postoperatively. Results Fifteen postoperative patients were follow-up for a period of 6 to 29 months, with an average of 16.5 months.According to Crawford's evaluation criteria,14 cases were excellent or good, with an excellent and good rate of 93.3%.Conclusion The modified double loop method for avulsion fracture blocks is easy to operate, reliable in fixation, and has a satisfactory clinical efficacy. The surgical time is short, the treatment cost is low,and it is worth promoting.
