The application of Heart method in rehabilitation exercise after trigger thumb operation in children
Objective To explore rehabilitation exercise methods for children after trigger thumb surgery,summarize technical details,and evaluate treatment outcomes.Methods From July 2021 to July 2022,our department performed open exploration and release of the flexor tendon of the thumb on 30 children(42 fingers)with trigger thumb.After 24 hours of surgery,we guided the parents of the children to engage in playful"heart method"exercises,closely followed up on the improvement of their clinical symptoms,summarized the technical details of postoperative rehabilitation exercise for children with trigger thumb,and evaluated the clinical efficacy.Results The playful"heart method"exercise can increase the compliance and cooperation of postoperative functional exercise in children.After at least 24 months of follow-up after surgery,all 30 children's thumb flexion and extension activities returned to normal,with no recurrence.Conclusion The early postoperative application of the"heart method"exercise can increase children's enthusiasm for functional exercise,effectively consolidate the clinical efficacy of trigger thumb surgery,and achieve satisfactory clinical efficacy in the rehabilitation exercise management of children after trigger thumb surgery.
