Objective To analyze the effect of early application of anti-gravity treadmill on the functional recovery of patients after arthroscopic lateral ligament repair of the ankle joint. Methods 36 patients who underwent lateral ankle ligament repair in the Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine,The Affiliated Suzhou Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from August 2020 to August 2023 were randomly divided into a study group and a control group, with 18 patients in each group. The control group received routine training after surgery, while the study group received routine training combined with anti-gravity treadmill training.Six months after surgery, the pain scores, functional scores, balance function, and ankle muscle strength recovery were compared between the two groups. Results Six months after surgery, the pain score, the difference value of star excursion balance test(SEBT),ankle valgus and plantar flexion muscle loss of the study group were lower than those of the control group, and the ankle Kofoed score was higher than that of the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion Early application of anti-gravity treadmill training after ankle joint ligament repair can release pain, improve lower limb motor function and balance function, and help patients recover eversion and plantar flexion muscle strength.
