Clinical effect of sacral nerve stimulation combined with Kegel exercise on postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction induced constipation
Objective To explore the effects of sacral nerve stimulation combined with Kegel exercise on clinical symptoms and pelvic floor muscle electromyography in patients with postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction induced constipation. Methods A prospective analysis was conducted on 98 patients with postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction induced constipation admitted to Shijiazhuang Third Hospital from January 2020 to January 2023.They were divided into a control group(n=49)and an observation group(n=49)using 1∶1 numerical list method. The control group received routine pelvic floor function repair treatment and Kegel exercise treatment, and the observation group received sacral nerve stimulation combined with Kegel exercise on the basis of the control group. The improvement of constipation symptoms, pelvic floor function, pelvic floor muscle electromyography, sexual function level, and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results After intervention, the constipation symptom score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).The pelvic floor muscle strength score, classⅠ muscle fiber voltage, and classⅡ muscle fiber voltage of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).The female sexual function index(FSFI)score and pelvic floor dysfunction questionnaire(PFDI-20)score of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Sacral nerve stimulation combined with Kegel exercise has a significant improvement effect on the clinical symptoms of postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction induced constipation patients, and helps to improve pelvic floor function, pelvic floor muscle electromyography, sexual function levels, and quality of life.
