Research Progress on Hippo and Notch Signaling Pathways in Basal Cell Carcinoma of Eyelid
Eyelid basal cell carcinoma(BCC)is the most common type of eyelid malignancy.Surgical resection is the recognized gold standard in the treatment of eyelid BCC,but for locally advanced or metastatic BCC,greater surgical risk and poor prognosis are the biggest issue that plagues doctors and patients,so it is necessary to explore new treatment options.Currently, targeted therapy has a good prospect, but the existing targeted drugs(Hedgehog signaling pathway inhibitors)face difficulties in completely eliminating tumors, serious toxic reactions and the occurrence of drug resistance. In view of this, the development of new targeted drugs is of great significance for the treatment of this disease.Hippo signaling pathway and Notch signaling pathway play an important role in the occurrence and development of eyelid BCC,and may become a new target for treatment. Therefore, this paper reviews the research progress on Hippo signaling pathway and Notch signaling pathway in eye-lid BCC,aiming to provide new ideas for the targeted therapy of eyelid BCC.
