Clinical Effect of Zirconia Pulp Cavity Retaining Crown in Repairing Mo-lar with Low Occlusal Gingival Distance
Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of zirconia pulp cavity retaining crown in repairing molar with low occlusal gingival distance. Methods From January 2020 to January 2022,46 patients(50)with low gingival space after root canal treatment were repaired by zirconia pulp cavity retaining crown. At 1,6 and 12 months after the completion of the restoration, the integrity of the repair, the closeness of the adjacency, the closeness of the edge, the condition of abutment, the periodontal condition and the loosening or detachment of the restoration were evaluated. Results At 1-month reexamina-tion,all the evaluation indexes of 50 molars were up to the clinical standard. At 6-month reexamination, the gingival conges-tion of the 6 affected teeth was slight, and there were no abnormalities in the restoration and abutment teeth. At 12-month re-examination,only 2 affected dental restorations had poor adjacency. The gingival congestion of the 2 affected teeth was mild, and no problems with the restoration or abutment were found. Conclusion Zirconia pulp cavity retaining crown can not only protect the teeth from fracture, but also improve the adhesion effect and have a good clinical effect for the molar with low oc-clusal gingival distance after root canal treatment.
