Effect of Propolis Supplementary Therapy on the Efficacy,Inflammatory Factors and Immune Function of Type 2 Diabetes Patients with Pulmonary Infection
Objective To explore the effect of propolis supplementary therapy on type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)complicated with pulmonary infection. Methods A total of 90 T2DM patients with pulmonary infection admitted from March 2021 to September 2022 were selected. They were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 45 cases in each group. The control group was given conventional insulin treatment, and the observation group was given wine propolis supplementary therapy on the basis of control group. The clinical effect, time to improvement of clinical symptoms and signs, and insulin dosage of the two groups after treatment were compared, and the changes in blood glucose metabolism and fluctua-tions,serum inflammatory indexes and immune function indexes before and after treatment were analyzed. Results The total effective rate of observation group[93.33%(42/45)]was higher than that of control group[75.56%(34/45)](P<0.05).The dose of insulin used in observation group was less than that in control group, and the time to blood glucose com-pliance,body temperature recovery, lung rale disappearance and lung shadow absorption were shorter than those in control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of fasting plasma glucose(FPG),2 h postprandial blood glucose(2 h PG),C reactive protein, procalcitonin and interleukin-6 were lower in the observation group than in the control group, while natural killer cells,CD4 +/CD8 +,CD4 + and CD3 + were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no signif-icant different in the total incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Propolis supplementary therapy has a good effect on patients with T2DM complicated with lung infection, which can relieve clinical symptoms rapidly, regulate glucose metabolism effectively, reduce inflammatory factors, and improve immune function.
