Clinical Observation and Study on Combination of Runzao Zhiyang Capsules and Loratadine in the Treatment of Uremic Skin Itching
Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of Runzao Zhiyang Capsules combined with loratadine in the treatment of skin pruritus in patients with uremia.Methods 100 patients with skin pruritus who were treated in the hemodialysis room of the First Department of Huanghua People's Hospital in Hebei Province from April to December 2023 were randomly divided into an experimental group ( n=50 ) and a control group ( n=50 ) according to the number table of medical records.The control group was treated with a single dose of loratadine tablets,while the experimental group was treated with a combination of Runzao Zhiyang Capsules and loratadine tablets.Both groups of patients were also treated with topical moisturizing cream.The therapeutic effects of each group were observed and compared using the following indices:visual analogue scale ( VAS ) score,modified Duo's itching score,Pittsburgh sleep quality index ( PSQI ) score,and incidence of adverse reactions.Results The overall effective rate of the Runzao Zhiyang Capsule plus loratadine group was significantly higher than the loratadine-only group ( P<0.05 ) .After receiving treatment,the VAS score,improved Duo's score,and PSQI score were significantly lower than pre-treatment scores ( P<0.05 ) .The VAS score,improved Duo's score,and PSQI score of the Runzao Zhiyang Capsule plus loratadine group were significantly lower than the loratadine-only group ( P<0.05 ) .Conclusion The combination of Runzao Zhiyang Capsules and loratadine has a good therapeutic effect on uremic skin pruritus,can effectively alleviate itching symptoms,improve patient sleep quality,and has certain clinical application value.
