Application Effect of MTM Pharmacy Outpatient Service in Elderly Patients with Hypertension Complicated with Type 2 Diabetes
Objective To explore the application effect of MTM pharmaceutical outpatient service in elderly patients with hypertension combined with type 2 diabetes.Methods A total of 82 elderly patients with hypertension combined with type 2 diabetes who were admitted to our hospital from March 2023 to September 2023 were enrolled.According to the principle of randomized control,they were divided into a routine group and an MTM group,with 41 cases in each group.The routine group was provided with routine medication guidance,and the MTM group was provided with MTM pharmaceutical outpatient service.Differences in blood pressure,blood glucose,medication compliance,and quality of life were compared between the two groups before intervention and 3 months after intervention,as well as the rates of blood glucose and blood pressure control after 3 months of intervention.Results Compared with before intervention,medication compliance and quality of life scores in both groups increased after 3 months of intervention,and the MTM group was significantly higher than the routine group ( P<0.05 ) .Systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure,fasting blood glucose,and glucose loading 2-hour blood glucose in both groups decreased compared with before intervention,and the MTM group was significantly lower than the routine group ( P<0.05 ) .After 3 months of intervention,the blood pressure and blood glucose compliance rates in the MTM group were significantly higher than those in the routine group ( P<0.05 ) .Conclusion MTM pharmacy outpatient service can significantly improve the medication compliance of elderly patients with hypertension combined with type 2 diabetes,reduce blood pressure and blood glucose levels,increase the rates of blood pressure and blood glucose compliance,and improve patients' quality of life.
