Research on the Relationship Between Intestinal Flora and Its Metabolites and Gestational Diabetes Mellitus
In recent years,the global incidence of gestational diabetes mellitus ( GDM ) has been increasing.Intestinal flora disorders are closely associated with metabolic diseases.Short-chain fatty acids,trimethylamine oxide,bile acids,and phenolic compounds,as metabolites of intestinal flora,are related to diet and insulin resistance.Therefore,this article reviewed the changes of intestinal flora in pregnant women with GDM and the role of intestinal flora and its metabolites in the occurrence,prevention,and treatment of GDM.
