Relationship between IRF4,MDM2,C-myc and Prognosis in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Objective To explore the relationship between interferon regulatory factor 4(IRF4),murine double mi-nute 2(MDM2),nuclear transcription factor C-myc and prognosis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).Methods The samples of cancer tissues were collected from 65 patients with ESCC who were treated in the Yingshang county people's hospital between January 2020 and June 2023,while samples of normal esophageal tissues samples from 30 patients with be-nign esophageal lesions were collected as controls.The expressions of IRF4,MDM2 and C-myc in different tissues were detec-ted by immunohistochemistry,and differences of the three indexes in different tissues were compared.The clinical tumor char-acteristics data in ESCC patients were collected to analyze the relationship between different indexes and tumor characteristics.The differences in postoperative survival among patients with different expressions of IRF4,MDM2 and C-myc were compared.The risk factors of prognosis in ESCC patients were analyzed.Results The positive expression rates of IRF4,MDM2 and C-myc in ESCC tissues were higher than those in benign lesion tissue(P<0.05).The positive expression of IRF4 was correla-ted with invasion of outer membrane and TNM staging(P<0.05).The positive expression of MDM2 was correlated with dif-ferentiation degree,lymphatic metastasis and TNM staging(P<0.05).The positive expression of C-myc was correlated with differentiation degree,invasion of outer membrane and TNM staging(P<0.05).The overall survival rates in patients with positive expressions of IRF4,MDM2 and C-myc were 47.62%(10/21),50.00%(17/34)and 58.14%(25/43),lower than those with negative expressions[(79.55%(35/44),90.32%(28/31),90.91%(20/22);Log rank χ2=10.100,13.700,7.526,P<0.05].The results of multivariate COX model analysis showed that TNM staging at stageⅢ+Ⅳ,posi-tive IRF4,MDM2 and C-myc were independent risk factors of prognosis in ESCC patients(P<0.05).Conclusion The positive expression rates of IRF4,MDM2 and C-myc are high in ESCC tissues,which are correlated with occurrence and de-velopment of tumors,and they are independent influencing factors of prognosis.
