The release of the "Notice on further optimization and implemention of the prevention and control actions for the new coronary pneumonia epidemic" at the end of year 2022 implies that the prevention and control of COVID-19 in China has come to a new era. However, number of patients infected with COVID-19 has increased sharply in a short period, greatly challenging nursing emergency management. As a national epidemic treatment center, our nursing emergency management working groups made an overall deployment as "graded diagnosis and treatment, stratified admission, hierarchical treatment, and ordered distribution", following the goal of "caring for health and preventing severely-ill patients". We employed a "1+2+3" nursing emergency management plan with "one command stick, two full coverage, and three key measures", which enabled the nursing care work for COVID-19 patients undertaken in a standardized and homogenized manner and subsequently improved the quality of rescue and care substantially.
