Siheruyi Cloud Satin Skirt Shape and its Production Process in Ming Dynasty
The textile industry in Jiangnan area of Ming Dynasty was developed well,and the-exquisite craftsmanship left many valuable clothing relics.Through the restoration of the unearthed objects,the original appearance of the clothing is reproduced and the characteristics of the clothing in the Ming Dynasty are displayed,which has a certain positive role in promoting the protection and inheritance of the clothing.This paper selects the Siheruyi cloud satin skirt unearthed from the tomb of Qian Zhang and his wife in Qifangqiao,Wuxi as the research object.Through the collection and sorting of unearthed material data,data measurement,fabric analysis,shape interpretation and pattern analysis,the Siheruyi cloud satin skirt is one-to-one restored.Through the same process,structure and material decoration,the skirt restoration is completed so as to reproduce the typical horse-face skirt appearance in Ming Dynasty.
