The founding of the Nanyang Public School and the Ningbo Education Association was not only a part of the new policy in the late Qing Dynasty,but also a landmark event in the modernization of education in Shanghai and Ningbo.Zhang Meiyi was born at the right time and was deeply involved in it as an educational administrator.In this process,he developed some educational ideas that were not strong in theory but full of personality.It can be seen that his favorite teaching content and educational purpose are still the traditional classics and history,which focuses on moral education.
