Study on Melt Spinning and Properties of Polylactic Acid Profiled Fiber
With polylactic acid(PLA)slice as raw material and using a profile spinneret,the profiled fibers of PLA were prepared by melt spinning and stretching.The spinning temperature of PLA fibers was determined by DSC thermal analysis of PLA slices,the cross-section morphology of PLA fibers was analyzed by using microscope,and the properties of PLA fiber with different draw ratio were studied.The results show that PLA fiber is a cross-shaped fiber with 37%relative radial profile.The surface of PLA fiber is smooth and there are obvious ribbed protrusions.With the increase of the draw ratio,the fracture strength and orientation factor increase,while the elongation at break decreases.
