Analysis on the Characteristics and Cultural Connotation of Traditional Phoenix Pattern of Blue Printed Fabrics in Jingchu Region
The blue printed fabric in the Jingchu region mainly features"phoenix patterns",following the folk worship of"phoenix patterns"from the Chu period to the Ming and Qing dynasties,evolving into a blue printed fabric with phoenix patterns that meet social needs,and meeting the people's admiration for phoenix culture in the Jingchu region.The article is based on the pattern collection of blue printed fabrics in the Jingchu region,and uses image and typological research methods to classify and compare the traditional phoenix patterns.Through the analysis of its pattern composition form and styling characteristics,it is found that the phoenix pattern composition includes an S-shaped,C-shaped,and cross shaped wings,and the styling includes a peacock shaped phoenix pattern,a chicken shaped phoenix pattern,and a bird shaped phoenix pattern.The phoenix pattern continues the romantic and peculiar design,showcasing the inner reflection of ascending to heaven through feathering.It creates a harmonious atmosphere of harmony between heaven and humanity,and the fusion of square and circle.The cultural connotation of the phoenix pattern on blue printed fabrics in the Jingchu region is traced back to the cultural coupling between the Chu phoenix primitive totem and the modern folk phoenix pattern.This further explains its auspicious and longevity life view and self-sufficient economic view,and proposes the necessity of urgently inheriting and protecting the traditional phoenix pattern on blue printed fabrics in the Jingchu region.
