Evaluation of heavy metal pollution in soil of a mining section in Zhenjiang
In the development and utilization of mineral resources,it is inevitable to bring many environmental and disaster problems, among which heavy metal pollution is one of the main environmental problems.A certain mining section in Zhenjiang mines copper sulfur ore and iron ore.Copper ore is accompanied by elements such as gold, silver, lead, and zinc. This thesis studies the distribution characteristics of heavy metal elements in the soil of the mining area, evaluates its pollution status, and further grasps the actual situation of heavy metal pollution in the surface soil of the investigation area, providing effective basis for environmental decision-makers.According to the survey, copper, cadmium, and zinc have the highest soil content in the survey area, with copper pollution being the most severe. This is consistent with the highest copper content in the mining area itself.Through correlation analysis, these three are closely related with the mining activities and share the same source. The heavy metal pollution in mining areas tends to decrease with the increase of mining distance.According to the Nemero index method, heavy metal pollution already exists in the farmland in the survey area, and some points have high levels of pollution, indicating severe pollution.
