Determination of Total Lead Content in Automotive Coatings by Microwave and Electrothermal Plate Digestion-ICP-OES
The lead in automotive coatings was completely digested using microwave high-pressure sealed digestion method and electrothermal plate digestion method, respectively, and then prepared into a sample solution. The total lead content in the sample solution was determined using inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy(ICP-OES).Comparing the sample determination results of two digestion methods, the spiked recovery rate of total lead content by microwave digestion method is 95.6%~98.1%,and the spiked recovery rate of total lead content by electrothermal plate digestion method is 97.4%~101.2%.After verification, microwave digestion method has the advantages of shorter time consumption, less reagent dosage, and higher safety, accuracy and precision.
