Study on the Conversion of(3aS,4R,6aR)-Dibenzyl Biotin to(3aS,4S,6aR)-Dibenzyl Biotin Promoted by A Base
Objective:To convert the impurities(3aS,4R,6aR)-bisbenzylbiotin generated during the synthesis of biotin(3aS,4S,6aR)-bisbenzylbiotin into the product(3aS,4S,6aR)-bisbenzylbiotin by chemi-cal reaction.Methods:Through alkali-catalyzed reaction,(3aS,4R,6aR)-bisbenzylbiotin was successfully converted to(3aS,4S,6aR)-bisbenzylbiotin.Results:(3aS,4S,6aR)-bisbenzylbiotin was obtained in a yield of 32.5%using isopropanol as solvent and sodium methoxide as catalyst and(3aS,4R,6aR)-bisbenzylbiotin stirred at 25°C for 24 h.Conclusion:This process provides a feasible method for the recovery of impurities(3aS,4R,6aR)-bisbenzyl biotin generated in the industrial production of biotin.
