The Initial Construction of Spatial Landscape of Jiangnan Maritime Poetry Road——Taking Shengsi Islands Poetry Road as the center
Shengsi Islands stand as a pivotal region within Jiangnan maritime territory, strategically situated at the convergence of China's extensive coastline and the mouth of the Yangtze River.Since the Han and Tang Dynasties,China's border poetry culture had flourished, weaving a rich tapestry of verse across both the vast mainland and the expansive seas. The spatial portrayal of the Jiangnan maritime frontier, with Shengsi Islands as the center, reflects such distinctive characteristics as the outward orientation,inter-island link and fishing ground sharing.Consequently, this spatial landscape, interwoven with the poetic networks encompassing the Taihu Lake, the Yangtze River, the Songjiang River, the canal and numerous towns, forms the intricate fabric of Jiangnan's vibrant poetic culture.Nevertheless, despite its historical significance, the poetic landscape of the Jiangnan maritime frontier has been in the state of obscurity. Its imagination of tribute routes, the literary depiction of islands and the narration of the fishing ground communities, among others, constitutes a poetic world that urgently requires exploration and exposition.
