Research on the Effects of Tourism Industry Agglomeration on Ecological Civilization Construction
With the well-established close relationship between tourism industry agglomeration and the construction of ecological civilization, the issue of externalities arising from tourism industry agglomeration has become a hot topic in research in recent years.Adopting a perspective centered on tourism industry agglomeration, the study investigates the impact of tourism industry agglomeration on ecological civilization using panel data and spatial econometric models from China's 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities between 2009-2019.The research results show that:(1)the level of tourism industry agglomeration varies significantly among China's 31 provinces and municipalities. There is a significant positive spatial correlation between tourism industry agglomeration and the construction of ecological civilization. The distribution predominantly exhibits"H-H"and"L-L"characteristics,indicating polarization.(2)Tourism industry agglomeration has both significant positive effects and negative impacts on ecological civilization construction. It enhances the level of ecological civilization construction while drawing resources from neighboring areas, leading to a decrease in ecological civilization development in these regions.(3)In the central and western parts of China, tourism industry agglomeration significantly contributes to the construction of ecological civilization. However,in the eastern region, there is no clear causal relationship between tourism industry agglomeration and ecological civilization construction.
