Self-reflection Before the Other:the Construction of Images in Lu Xun's Translation of Eroshenko's Fairy Tales
Translation studies from an imagological perspective focus on the construction of the images of the Other and the Self.In Lu Xun's translation of Eroshenko's fairy tales,his transformation of the author Eroshenko's image and his portrayal of the triple images,namely the living space,the vulgar populace as well as the illuminati were under the motivation of transforming national character.He aimed to help the people realize their self-images and devoted to an advancement of national character with the Other as a mirror.The process of the images construction in the translation also reflects Lu Xun's sincerity and altruism.This is conducive to a comprehensive understanding of Lu Xun's translation activities,an objective assessment of the historical value of his translations,and also fosters cross-disciplinary insights between translation studies and imagology.
