From the perspective of welfare economics,based on multiple linear regression models,the study in-vestigates the influence of medical insurance on people's sense of happiness.The result shows that medical insur-ance,especially commercial insurance,has a positive effect on the improvement of people's sense of happiness.Com-pared with residents without any medical insurance,basic medical insurance significantly improves their sense of happiness and residents who purchase both basic medical insurance and commercial insurance have a higher sense of happiness.Based on this,it is advisable to increase financial investment in medical insurance,expand publicity ef-forts,steadily promote market-oriented reforms,and expand channels for expressing public consumption demand,so as to further improve the sense of happiness and welfare of members of society.
