The study analyzes the development status and the main tenant population of youth apart-ments in China.According to the housing needs of young people,there are the work-and-study oriented,the entertainment and leisure focused,and the home-life centered youth apartments.Several key strategies for the optimization of youth apartment layouts are suggested,including decentralizing space planning,integra-ting multiple functions,utilizing,convertible furniture,and enhancing smart home interactive features.These strategies and design suggestions aim to improve the living quality of youth apartments and offer valuable reference for the construction of rental housing in China,thereby promoting the continuous devel-opment and improvement in the rental housing sector.
