As one of the required courses for the major of Korean,the course of basic Korean bears the responsibility of ideological and political education.However,the integration of ideological and political ed-ucation into basic Korean is faced with great challenges in that the present teaching of basic Korean empha-sizes Korean language skills instead of moral education,focuses on the publicity of Korean culture instead of the sustenance of Chinese culture,underlines the teacher'knowledge input rather than students'out-put,and prioritizes skill assessment over moral education assessment.Based on a survey of the integration of ideological and political education into basic Korean in two undergraduate universities in Anhui Prov-ince,the paper analyzes the causes of the challenges and explores effective implementation strategies in terms of improvement of teachers'ideological and political literacy,exploration of ideological and political elements in textbooks,innovation of teaching methods of ideological and political education,and establish-ment of an evaluation system for ideological and political education,which are of positive significance to promotion of the high-quality and connotative development of course-based ideological and political educa-tion in the major of Korean in universities.
