A Study of the Current Situation of the Career Identity of the Students Majoring Preschool Education in Privately-run Higher Vocational Colleges
With the increase in the number of government-funded and privately-run non-profit kindergartens,a need for kindergarten teachers is growing.Therefore,the number of privately-run higher vocational colleges who have successfully applied the specialty of preschool education increased in recent years.Because of its late starting,it is worth studying the current situation of the career identity of the students majoring preschool education in privately-run higher vocational college.A survey conducted by Guangzhou Nanyang Polytechnic College shows that the career identity level of preschool education major students is above average.Personalities,reasons for choosing preschool education as a major,test results,whether or not serving as a student leader would respectively influence career identity.Unsatisfactory salary is the main reason why graduates of preschool education major don't take kindergarten teacher as a long-term career.In order to improve the career identity level,it is advised that ways of entrance education should be innovated and courses to develop teacher identity consciousness of preschool education major students should be designed.
