Exploring the Supply-Side Reform of Graduate Student Union of Engineering Colleges in Universities——A Case Study of the Graduate Student Union of School of Automation Science and Engineering of South China University of Technology
Graduate student unions in universities are student organizations fundamentally aiming at strengthening political guidance for fellow students and addressing the common needs and difficulties of graduate students in academic development,physical and mental health,social integration,and rights protection.In the current social environment and the context of engineering colleges,the demands of graduate students have undergone changes and become more concentrated.The rigid service supply structure of graduate student unions fails to adapt to these changing demands,resulting in decreasing participation in union activities and reducing students'satisfaction.Additionally,insufficient political guidance and external communication have led to inadequate efforts in serving the overall situation and fellow students.This paper explores the graduate student union of engineering colleges in universities in the current environment,analyzes the problems existing in the supply-side of their services,and taking the Graduate Student Union of the School of Automation Science and Engineering of South China University of Technology as an example,explores the reform path of the supply-side of services of graduate student unions in engineering colleges of universities.
