Effects of dietary energy level on TCF7L2 gene expression in pigs
This experiment was conducted to study the effect of dietary energy level on transcription factor 7-like 2 gene(TCF7L2)mRNA expression in Landrace pigs.Twenty four Landrace pigs(90 days old)were divided into two groups according to the dietary energy level, slaughtered and sampled when they were 180 days. The expressions of TCF7L2 mRNA in these two Landrace pig groups was measured by qRT-PCR,and blood biochemical indicators were measured. The results showed that the expression patterns of TCF7L2 mRNA in these two groups were similar,in which back fat was great higher than longissimus dorsi muscle.Comparison between these two groups indicated that the expression of TCF7L2 mRNA in back fat and longissimus dorsi muscle in H(high energy)group was higher than that in L(low energy)group. The results suggested that dietary energy level could influence the expression level of TCF7L2 mRNA and blood biochemical indicators in pigs, thereby affecting subcutaneous and intramuscular fat deposition, which provided reference for further study on the molecular mechanism of fat metabolism in pig.
