The protection and utilization of historical and cultural villages in Hangzhou originated from the"Thousand Villages Demonstration and Ten Thousand Villages Renovation"project.This paper introduced the basic situation of the protection and utilization of historical and cultural villages in Hangzhou,summarized the characteristics and experience of Hangzhou in policy support,environmental optimization,cultural mining,and business development,and analyzed the existing problems in ideological understanding,cultural protection,village safety,and industrial renewal.The formation mechanism,scientific planning,support and extensive participation of historical and cultural villages in Hangzhou are considered and suggestions are put forward.
