In the novels about migrant workers in the new century, space is not only a place in the purely geographical sense but also has strong social and cultural attributes and symbolic metaphorical functions.Eve-rything,from armers'imagination of urban space and their pursuit of self-identity before they enter the city, and their marginal position in the social environment of urban-rural confrontation and the construction of urban identity after they move to the city,to their difficulties in returning hometown and the re-split of identity caused by cognitive dislocation, not only shows the obvious spatial metaphor of such novels, but also reveals migrant workers'desire for fairness and justice and the confirmation of their self-identity.
