The style of the anthology shows great differences due to the different compilation purposes.As a representative work of the collection of articles of the Song and Tang period,the compilation style of Lv Zu-qian's Song Wen Jian is close to Wen Yuan Ying Hua,Tang Literary Essence and Song Wen Hai,and hence Song Wen Jian is comprehensive and characteristic.Based on the theme of Zhi Dao(治道),Lv Zuqian distin-guished the style of writing,regardless of elegance,vulgarity and high and low status.He viewed the evolution of style from the perspective of the six classics of the text and the theme of beneficial education.The selection of texts pays attention to the way of inner sanctity and outer king,and relates classical works with people's practice and cultivation,showing the idea of harmony between literature and the message it carries.The com-pilation style emphasizes narration,which has the significance of preserving history with text.Compared with Wen Selected and Tang Literary Essence,the compilation theme of the Song Wen Jian gradually changed from literature to history,reflecting the transformation of literary fashion in Song dynasty.As a representative work of the transformation of the anthology of the"Wen Xuan"type,Song Wen Jian has set a model for the compil-ation of anthologies of articles for the later generations.
