Mass mobilization of the Communist Party of China in the Kuomintang-controlled areas during the War of Liberation:a case study of the mass mobilization in the Hangzhou Kuomintang-controlled area
The Communist Party of China(CPC)carried out intensive mass mobilization in the Hangzhou Kuomintang-controlled area during the War of Liberation,which was a crucial part of the broader mass mobili-zation efforts in the Kuomintang-controlled areas at the time.The Hangzhou underground CPC organization mobilized the public through expanding publicity efforts,conducting ideological and political education activi-ties,and guiding and promoting the people's struggle against Chiang Kai-shek.They implemented the Party's policies and guidelines for activities in the Kuomintang-controlled areas and adopted flexible and adaptive mo-bilization strategies,achieving significant results.The mass mobilization efforts of the Hangzhou underground CPC organization not only won the support of the people in the Hangzhou Kuomintang-controlled area but also constrained the military forces of the Kuomintang,becoming an important part of the"second front".Addi-tionally,it facilitated the peaceful liberation of Hangzhou,laying a solid foundation for the smooth takeover by the People's Liberation Army.
