Does the Construction of Digital Government Promote the SME Entrepreneurship?——Evidence from Zhejiang Province's"SME Public Service Platform"
Digital government has become an important governance approaches to improve the business environment and stimulate market vitality,which plays an important role in promoting SME en-trepreneurship.Government digital enterprise service platforms(DESPs)are one of the most popular carriers of digital government.This research takes the establishment and operation of"Zhejiang Prov-ince SME Public Service Platform"as a quasi-natural experiment,and empirically estimates the entre-preneurship-promoting effect of digital government construction based on Zhejiang Province's small and micro enterprise registration data.Our research finds that by providing market information and matching service needs,Zhejiang Province SME Public Service Platform has reduced the entry barriers of enterprises and promoted the SME entrepreneurship,and this entrepreneurial promotion effect is more significant in areas with poor entrepreneurial environments.
