Digital Economy and the Quality of Chinese Enterprises'Export Products:Theoretical Mechanisms and Empirical Facts
This paper expands Antoniades'heterogeneous enterprise model and finds that the de-velopment of the digital economy can affect the quality of Chinese enterprises'export products through innovation promotion effects and competition inhibition effects.The former improves the quality of ex-port products,while the latter reduces the quality of export products.Empirical analysis based on Chi-nese industrial enterprise data,customs data,and enterprise patent data shows that under the combined effect of the two effects,the development of the digital economy promotes the upgrading of export prod-uct quality for enterprises,and enterprise productivity plays a positive regulatory role in this process.
